A.J. McLean Launches Solo Career

Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean will be doing solo concerts in Los Angeles.

McLean will be performing at the House of Blues in Anaheim on March 23, and the following day he will be at Roxy in Los Angeles, reported People.

The singer’s manager, Eric Podwall, stated, "After 13 years with the Backstreet Boys, and 75 million records sold worldwide, A.J.’s excited to take a step out on his own and present his music, in his style."

He added that the concerts will give fans a glimpse into the music that they will find on his first solo album, which will be released later this year.

In addition to his two solo concerts, and the Backstreet Boys European tour, which will be finishing on May 14, McLean is also planning a concert series at small venues in Europe.  He will then come back to the United States to work on his album.

McLean has not indicated that he would like to quit the Backstreet Boys.  He is planning to record the next album with the band.
