Death of a Great Director

Anthony Minghella, the director of The English Patient, died at the age of 54.

According to People, the director who won an Oscar for Best Director in 1996 for his movie The English Patient has diedThe cause of death has not been revealed. 

Credit must also be given to this director for The Talented Mr. Ripley in 1999, which permitted Jude Law to make a breakthrough in the film industry, as well as Cold Mountain, which earned Renée Zellweger an Oscar for Best Supporting Role.

His most recent project was The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency, which was shot in Botswana, Africa.

Minghella leaves behind a grieving wife Carolyn Choa, who is a choreographer from Hong Kong.
