Curt Smith Goes Solo

Curt Smith, from the group Tears for Fears, is launching a solo album, Halfway, pleased.

After many accomplishments including being a musician in the group Tears for Fears, radio and television host, and composer, Smith will now do some work as a solo artist.  He will be launching his album Halfway, pleased in May.

In an interview with Billboard, Smith, 46, admitted he has time to concentrate on himself. "The nature of Tears For Fears was there was always two of us. It was about compromise. We all had to agree on all of it. Solo, you don’t have compromise. It gets back to what’s great when you’re a musician," stated the artist.

Smith is determined to not make any compromises, so he will be launching under his own label, KOOK Media.

Smith, who now lives in Los Angeles, describes his album as dark with some light moments, exploring themes such as love and family.
