Witherspoon, Sutherland and Laurie will be working with other actors such as Will Arnett, Seth Rogen, Rainn Wilson, Stephen Colbert and Paul Rudd for this 3D film by DreamWorks.
Variety reported that in this movie, monsters of the 1950s are recreated in a modern-day action comedy. In the story, a California girl, Susan Murphy (Witherspoon), is hit by a meteor and grows to be 50 feet tall. She is captured by the military and kept in a confine along with other monsters, until an alien lands and wreaks havoc. The monsters are then unleashed.
Sutherland will be playing General Monger, Colbert will lend the voice of the President, and Rudd will be Susan’s friend.
The comedy, directed by Rob Letterman (Shark Tale) and Conrad Vernon (Shrek 2), will be in theatres on March 27, 2009.
