Berries To Battle Obesity

The natural pigmentation found in blueberries, strawberries and raspberries can combat obesity.

 Researchers in Arkansas have found anti-obesity properties in berries.  It seems that anthocyanins, the natural pigment that oscillates between blue and red, are responsible for this phenomenon.

Dr. Ronald L. Prior and his colleagues found that mice whose menu was very rich in berries gained less weight. 

In addition to berries, anthocyanins are found in grapes, blackberries, plums and eggplant.
