Terminator 4 Coming in 2009

Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, starring Christian Bale, will be released in theatres next year.

Warner Bros. has announced that they will launch the film on May 22, 2009 in North America.  The film will be released on the same day as the comedy Night at the Museum 2: Escape from the Smithsonian, reports Variety.  The first installment of the comedy franchise, starring Ben Stiller, Night at the Museum, earned $250 million at the box office, while Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines earned $150 million.

Few details are known about Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, other than the fact that the story takes place after Skynet has destroyed most of humanity with a nuclear attack.  A group of survivors, led by John Connor (Bale) desperately try to stop the machines.

Sam Worthington, who is currently working on the James Cameron science-fiction film Avatar, is in talks to star in T4.  Filming is set to begin in April in Hungary.
