Variety announced that Terry Gilliam is able to breathe a sigh of relief after finding replacements for the starring role in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. Heath Ledger was cast for this part and died during the time the film was shooting. The three actors will be Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell. The character that was supposed to be played by Ledger goes through three time periods, therefore, the producers decided to go with three different actors for the part.
The movie will also star Christopher Plummer, Tom Waits, Lily Cole, Andrew Garfield and Verne Troyer. It will be in theatres in 2009.
