According to People, a man claiming he is Spears’ new lawyer is stating that the pop star has been deprived of her rights and he is requesting a return to "normalcy" for the singer.
Jon Eardley filed a complaint at the federal court on Thursday (February 14). The lawyer argues that the current state of "conservatorship" is a violation of Spears’ rights. He is requesting that the case be moved to a federal court.
Eardley stated, "I see the case as a civil rights case. These are issues of confinement. Very serious confinement. Not allowed to contact her friends. Not allowed to use the phone. Not allowed to come and go as you please. Bodyguards controlling you and so forth."
Last Friday (February 15), a representative of the superior court announced that the court orders were still in effect, including the conservatorship.
