After the band launches their album, Accelerate on March 31, they will be starting a European tour in Amsterdam on June 2, reported Pitchfork.
Four years after releasing the studio album Around the Sun, the group is on to their next album. Accelerate will also be available as a double disc/DVD. The DVD is 48 minutes of the band’s concerts and videos of their songs.
R.E.M. was very successful in the 1980s, and announced their comeback tour on their website yesterday (February 11). They will be performing in France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
The band will also do a benefit concert in London on March 24 at Royal Albert Hall, situated at the Institute of Contemporary Arts.
