The Writer’s Strike May Be Coming to an End

An agreement may be coming between the writers and producers in Hollywood.

The industry may soon be breathing a sigh of relief, as the Los Angeles Times reports that the Writers Guild of American (WGA) may be back to work as early as Monday.

It is expected that the two sides will be signing a new three-year contract.  On Saturday (February 9), the WGA will present the details of the contract to its members, and the deal is expected to be approved the following day.

The strike began on November 5.  In addition to bringing several television series to a halt, it was also the cause of the cancellation of the Golden Globes ceremony.

With the new agreement, film projects could resume as early as next week.  The upcoming Oscar Awards ceremony should take place on February 24 as planned.
