Keira Knightley’s Dress Goes To Auction

The beautiful dress that Keira Knightley wore in the film Atonement will be sold at an auction.

The green evening gown worn by the 22-year-old star will be part of an auction to raise money for The Children’s Charity of Southern California, which helps neglected and abused children.

The dress will be sold through the Clothes Off Our Back Internet site on March 1, and bidding for the dress will begin at $1,000.  The accompanying description reads, "Memorably worn during the crucial emotional and romantic sequences by Ms. Knightley as Cecilia Tallis, opposite James McAvoy as Robbie Turner, the backless dress was taken directly from the production’s archives and is one of a handful that was made specifically for Ms. Knightley to wear during filming. Multiples were fashioned because of the fragility of the dress."

Fashion designer Jacqueline Durran, who created the green dress, has earned an Oscar nomination for her work with the film Atonement.
