The British group is getting ready to go back into the studio after a little time off. This break gave lead singer, Dave Gahan time to release his second solo album.
The group met this month to determine the ideal time to go back in the studio, and decided it would be in March.
The record company EMI would like the album to be launched before the end of the year. They are hoping the release will be in November 2008.
The group may announce a series of concerts in Europe at the beginning of the fall, followed by a world tour in 2009. Depeche Mode’s last album, Playing the Angel, was released in 2005.
