After serving a 48-day sentence behind bars, Sutherland was released from the prison in Glendale, California, reported People.
The prison’s spokesperson, John Balian, stated, "[Kiefer] looked like he was glad to be out."
Sutherland, 41, served his entire sentence for drinking and driving, and violating his probation. The star spent the Christmas holidays in prison.
Balian added, "Throughout his stay, he never griped, never complained. He never wanted preferential treatment from the get go, and we respect him for that."
The actor was also sentenced to five years of probation, and he must do an 18-month rehab program, as well as weekly therapy for six months.
