Indiana Jones 4 is Science-Fiction

The next Indiana Jones film will have more of a science-fiction story.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, writer George Lucas, director Steven Spielberg, and actor Harrison Ford who plays the starring role, revealed some information about the fourth installment of the film franchise.  The first image of the film is also available on the magazine’s website.

According to Lucas, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will have more  science-fiction.  Lucas said, “ […] instead of doing a 30s Republic serial, we’re doing a B science-fiction movie from the 50s."

Ford admits that he hopes to shoot the movie without any injuries.  “In the first one, I tore the A.C.L. in my left leg,” he says, “and then, in the second one, I ended up with a bad back injury and had to have surgery in the middle of filming. But in this one, I was pretty much uninjured.”

The film, which is expected to be released in theatres on May 22, was filmed in New Mexico, Connecticut, California and Hawaii.
