Feist Already Back in the Studio

Canadian singer, Feist, who has four nominations for the upcoming Grammy Awards, has already started recording new material.

The former member of Broken Social Scene is already back in the studio, just seven months after the release of her album, The Reminder.

"I’m tiptoeing into some new terrain," Feist told Billboard.com.  "There’s no necessity and no timeline. I’m not quite at the point where I think I should be thinking about another record."

Feist, 31, is letting inspiration be her guide and not forcing music.  She goes into the studio whenever the opportunity is there with her bandmates for the simple pleasure of recording new material.  During a recent stay in Louisville, the singer, who loves to sing in French, chose to be in the studio rather than have a day off.  She recorded a duet with Ben Gibbard of Death Cab For Cutie, which will appear on the disc Red Hot and Indie.

The coming year will be very busy for Feist, who has a tour beginning on February 18 in Toronto, and will be in Australia in March.
