Golden Globe Nominees Announced

The United Kingdom drama Atonement has earned the most nominations for the 65th annual Golden Globes.

The Foreign Press Association in Hollywood announced this morning (December 13) the films and television series that will compete for trophies at the awards ceremony, which will take place on January 13.

This year, Atonement, which was directed by Joe Wright and stars Keira Knightley and James McAvoy, has seven nominations.  The film may win the award in the Best Dramatic Film and Best Actor/Actress categories, among others.

Charlie Wilson’s War, a political film starring Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks, was nominated in five categories.

Other films, including American Gangster, Eastern Promises, The Great Debaters, Michael Clayton, No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood will also be competing for golden statues.
