The December issue of HARP magazine unveiled the title of Antony and the Johnsons, third album. The album entitled The Crying Light will be launched in the spring under the label Secretly Canadian.
According to the singer of the group, Antony Heharty, the piano is at the heart of 25 new tracks recorded for this album. He described this album as "a little more experimental structurally".
Hegarty used nature and the supernatural as a theme in this album, which was believed to have contributed to the success of the 2005 album, I Am a Bird Now.
He added, "It’s about landscape and the future. I guess I’m thinking about those things a lot– about the natural landscape of the world and the landscape inside each person."
The last album was melancholic, however, this album explores infinite happiness and philosophical questions.
In the interview with HARP, a few titles of the singles were also announced. The album will have Her Eyes Underneath the Ground, Give My Name and Everglade, among other tracks.
In the meantime, Hegarty recorded a duet, Dull Flame of Desire, with Björk.
