FemaleFirst reported that Usher thanked his mother for being his agent, but wants her to now play the role of grandma for his son.
There were rumours that the singer fired his mother following a disagreement with his wife, Tameka Foster. The R&B singer denied these rumours, and said the reasons for her stepping down as his agent were positive reasons.
He told Essence magazine, "It kills me when I read what my fans think about my relationship (with my mother) because it’s so wrong. I didn’t fire my mother. I resigned her […] I could have a million managers. I will only have one mother."
He added that his mother is engaged now and he would like her to make the most of her life.
