Billabong is Going Green

Billabong is adding an environmental department to its company.

FashionMag reported that the company Billabong has decided to show its clients that the environment is important for the company, by creating a special division, in the Girl department, to finance humanitarian associations.

This division will be called Design for Humanity, and its goal is to participate in  environmental and social operations around the world.

The first project for this environmental division was presented last April by Billabong. It is a collection of surf clothing, created by celebrities and sold on eBay. The profits were given to SurfAid.

The second project was presented on November 8 in Paris, in conjunction with three artists. Andy Ward, Blami and Jean-Michel Tixier presented three t-shirts which were part of the summer 2008 collection.

All of these clothing styles are part of the Design for Humanity project by Billabong.
