FemaleFirst reported that Zahara’s biological mother, Mentewab Dawit, stated that Angelina Jolie is giving a better life to her two-year-old daughter.
Dawit gave up Zahara at the age of five months because she could not feed her. She denied the rumours that she asked Jolie to have her daughter back. In fact, she has thanked the star for giving her daughter a home.
She stated, "I have never disputed the adoption. It was something I never said. I decided to flee rather than watch her die. I think my daughter is a very fortunate human being to be adopted by a world famous lady. I wish them all the success they both deserve. I have no ill-feelings towards her."
In addition, it was revealed that the Zahara’s adoption by Angelina Jolie was "legal and irrevocable".
