After a two year absence, Alice in Chains is hoping for a comeback. The new disc should be recorded before the end of 2008.
The band is now comprised of Jerry Cantrell on guitar, Mike Inez on bass, Sean Kinney on drums, and William DuVall, who replaces the late Layne Staley on vocals.
Jerry Cantrell spoke about possibly releasing the disc before the end of 2008, but does not want to set deadlines because he wants the band to be completely happy with the CD before it is launched. According to Cantrell, the new disc will be more aggressive.
At the moment, the band does not have a record label, and may decide to record the album independently.
