Paul Weitz, who directed About a Boy, will direct Reilly in the film adaptation of the children’s book written by Darren Shan.
Reilly, who can next be seen in the comedy Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story on December 21, will play a vampire who hires a 14 year-old boy to be his assistant. The young man, who is transformed into part vampire, soon becomes the catalyst of a war between his clan and the vampires.
Filming of the project is set to begin in February of 2008.
