The Negative Effects of High Calorie Diet

A diet that has too many calories could have an impact on a person’s biological clock.

A study published in Cell Metabolism found that a diet that contains a lot of saturated fats can cause a chain reaction on the biological clock.

This works on a 24-hour cycle and controls a person’s sleep pattern, as well as a person’s appetite and metabolism.

The researchers at Northwestern University in Chicago analysed two groups of mice. One group had a normal and diverse diet, while the other had a diet high in fat and calories.

According to Joe Bass, endocrinologist and one of the authors of the article, after only two weeks, the biological clock of the second group of mice was completely modified. The animals were not eating just during meal time. It changed their eating and sleep patterns.
