Steven Spielberg To Be Honoured

The Visual Effects Society will be honouring Steven Spielberg.

The man behind E.T. and the dinosaurs of Jurassic Park will be given the Kudo award, which is the highest distinction given by the Visual Effects Society (VES).  Spielberg will be recognized for his talents as a filmmaker, producer, and contributions to special effects throughout his prolific career.

"Steven Spielberg is the first director that to comes to mind when you think of amazing visual effects due to his enormous body of creative groundbreaking work," said Jeff Okun of VES.

The Kudo award will be given to Spielberg on February 10 at the Visual Effects Society Awards, to be held at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood.

The next film from Spielberg, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, will be released in theatres on May 22, 2008, and was produced by another VES winner, George Lucas.
