Avril Lavigne Earns Two Awards

The MTV Europe Music Awards took place last night (November 1).

Avril Lavigne was a big winner at the event, hosted by American rapper Snoop Dogg, in Munich, Germany.  The Canadian artist won both Artist of the Year and Song of the year for Girlfriend.

Loose, the latest disc from Canadian sensation Nelly Furtado, was also a winner.

Several artists performed during the evening, including Lavigne, Amy Winehouse, Babyshambles, Will.i.am, Nicole Scherzinger and the Foo Fighters.

Justin Timberlake, who dominated the nominations, did not attend the event.  He was also not a winner in the Concert of the Year, Best Video for What Goes Around, Solo Artist of 2007, and Urban Artist categories.
