Forbes has just publicized their list of the richest deceased celebrities.
Elvis Presley’s fortune has now surpassed that of Kurt Cobain, which is estimated at $49 million.
The second largest fortune belongs to John Lennon at $44 million. Another Beatle, George Harrison, is in fourth position at $22 million. Other deceased celebrities with smaller fortunes include Tupac Shakur, $9 million, James Brown, $5 million and Bob Marley, $4 million.
In 2006, Kurt Cobain’s estate was in first position after partially selling the Nirvana catalogue to Cobain’s widow, Courtney Love. It was valued at $50 million.
