The Clipse Joins the Columbia Team

The hip-hop duo The Clipse has left Jive Records to join Columbia.

Billboard magazine reports that following months of unhappiness with their label, The Clipse has finally ended their contract with Jive Records and Neptunes’ Star Trak Entertainment to work with Columbia.

The split comes after a lawsuit was filed against the hip-hop duo for not honouring their contract with Jive Records, who acquired Star Trak, the group’s original label.

The two brothers, who have created their own label, Re-Up Gang Records, were in search of a new label.  Their new company will now share 50% of the profits with Columbia.

The Clipse is planning collaborations with Timbaland, Danjahandz and Dame Grease for their next release.
