Ryan Gosling stated that his costar, Rachel McAdams, from the movie The Notebook, is one of the greatest loves of his life. People reported that when the couple split up, Gosling needed to reassure his fans.
Gosling told the November issue of GQ magazine, "Women are mad at me. A girl came up to me on the street and she almost smacked me. Like, ‘How could you? How could you let a girl like that go?’"
Gosling who has been rather quiet in regards to the breakup up until now explained, "I feel like I want to give people hugs, they seem so sad. Rachel and I should be the ones getting hugs! Instead, we’re consoling everybody else."
The two actors started dating shortly after filming the romantic movie for which they won the award for best kiss at the MTV Movie Awards. However, Gosling stated that their relationship was not at all like the characters.
