Armour, a singer and songwriter from Minnesota, is hoping to convince a Lubbock, Texas court that Knowles is guilty of plaigarism.
In 2005, Armour first filed a lawsuit against Knowles, claiming that the singer had stolen tracks from Armour’s song Got a Little Big of Love for You for the Beyonce hit Baby Boy. The song was part of the solo album from the former Destiny’s Child singer called Dangerously in Love, and also topped the Billboard chart.
Armour claims that she wrote Got a Little Bit of Love for You well before Dangerously in Love was released, and that the song was sent to the record label which recorded Beyonce’s album.
Last year, a federal judge in Houston, Texas dismissed the case, saying that the two songs were not similar. Dana Kirk, a lawyer for Jennifer Armour, has asked that the courts hear the case again.
Earlier this week, Beyonce Knowles made the news by announcing that she would perform a concert in Indonesia, rather than Malaysia, where a strict dress code is imposed on female artists.
