Metric’s guitarist, Jimmy Shaw, confirmed that the group is currently working on their next album.
He specified that the material is far from finished, and that the group has done about 75% of the work required prior to recording.
For this new album, which will have songs that are more positive than usual for this group, Shaw explained they were inspired by space and the world. Shaw did not specify when the group would be recording, but the group members have already started playing some new singles in concert.
Metric’s last album, Live It Out, was in 2005.
