People magazine reported that Nick Bollea was gravely hurt when his car went off the road, and hit a palm tree.
The police explained that Bollea was behind the wheel of his Toyota Supra and he was driving on a four-lane road when his car hit something. He lost control of the vehicle for several seconds, and hit a 25-foot palm tree.
Wayne Shelor, a spokesperson for the police explained, "His car inexplicably left the road, and it was totally destroyed upon impact."
The reason for the loss of control is unknown, but the police do believe that Bollea was driving too fast.
