The singer of the group Baby Shambles, who was traveling from Chelmsford to Stafford to do a concert at V-Festival, found himself in the thick of the smoke, when he saw a car hit a block of concrete.
A source told The Sun, "Pete saw the overturned car billowing with smoke in the middle of the carriageway. The band stopped and pulled a guy in his 50s from the vehicle. He had hit a concrete block on the side of the road and the car flipped over."
Doherty then called the police, and paramedics. The singer walked away with minor injuries.
