According to a report by Variety, Diaz has joined the cast of the film, which was inspired by a book written by Jodi Picoult. My Sister’s Keeper will be directed by Nick Cassavetes for New Line Cinema.
The screenplay was written by Jeremy Levin, and will be produced by Mark Johnson. The two teamed with Cassavetes before for the film The Notebook.
In the film, Diaz will play a lawyer who is defending herself and her husband when their 13 year-old daughter sues them for emancipation.
Filming is set to begin at the beginning of next year.
