Pitt and Paltrow, who were a couple for about three years, have accepted parts in a political drama, Dirty Tricks.
The movie will be based on the consequences of the American scandal, Watergate, and will also be starring Meryl Streep and Sharon Stone.
The scandal shook up the United States in the 1970s when the Republican President, Richard Nixon was forced to step down from office after it was revealed that he was spying in the Democrat offices.
Pit and Paltrow will be playing a married coupe John and Maureen Dean, and the part of Richard Nixon wil be played by Jim Broadbent.
Filming for Dirty Tricks will begin in December.
