The members of the British band, Chris Martin, Johnny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion, had already been working on their next CD in London, but were not happy with the results.
A source working with the group wrote on their official website, "When you place six strong-willed men in a small room for 10 months working 10 to 12 hours a day on something they care about passionately, friction is inevitable."
The band’s leader, Chris Martin, suggested that they travel to Spain for inspiration from the colourful history and culture of the country. The band began recording in Barcelona, and the disc will reflect a Spanish theme.
The album is expected to be released in the beginning of 2008.
