Sean Penn and Iggy Pop Provide Voices

Actor Sean Penn and singer Iggy Pop will lend their voices to the animated film Persepolis.

According to Variety, the two men will join Gena Rowlands and Catherine Deneuve, who will also provide voices.

The animated film is an autobiography of Marjane Satrapi, who was living in Iran during the 1979 revolution.

Sean Penn will provide the voice of Satrapi’s father, while Pop will be an uncle who is a political activist.

The recording of the voices will take place this summer.  The film should be ready for the Toronto Film Festival in September.
