The 34 year-old star, who is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, is refuting the accusations made by Joanne Sarantakos, Angel’s wife, who claims Diaz is the "other woman" who came between the married couple.
Sarantakos has named Diaz in official court documents filed in Nassau, the Bahamas, which ask for a divorce from the illusionist.
The star of the film The Holiday may soon need to explain the extent of her relationship with Angel. A lawyer for Sarantakos plans to bring Diaz into court. He said, "We’re naming Cameron Diaz as his lover. We will subpoena her as soon as she comes back to New York."
A spokesperson for Cameron Diaz told People magazine, "When Cameron met Criss Angel in May of this year, he had been separated from his wife for over a year and she had already filed a petition to divorce him in 2006."
Angel, 39, recently said that he is a friend of the actress. Joanne Sarantakos plans to prove that Angel and Diaz are more than just friends, and had hired a private investigator.
