In the film directed by James Mangold (Walk the Line), a desperado is captured by a sheriff who is determined to get him to his hanging. The film is a remake of a 1957 film which starred Glenn Ford.
In addition to Crowe and Bale, the film also stars Peter Fonda, Gretchen Mol, Dallas Roberts, Ben Foster, Vinessa Shaw and Johnny Whitworth.
