The actor was in his car when he heard four gunshots and then saw a man staggering in the street outside of a Hollywood restaurant on May 28.
A source told the New York Daily News, "Cuba was picking up dinner at Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘n’ Waffles for his family on the night of Memorial Day. He saw a young kid holding his head and walked toward him. The kid was bleeding from his neck and collapsed."
Gooding Jr. ran over to the victim, who was described as being 20 years old, and cradled him in his arms while he yelled for help from the restaurant. The 39 year-old actor tried to control the bleeding and then stopped a passing police car. The actor stayed with the man until an ambulance arrived.
