R.E.M. and David Bowie Sing for Kurt Cobain

Several artists, including R.E.M. and David Bowie, are recording songs for the soundtrack of the film about Kurt Cobain, About a Son.

Iggy Pop, Bad Brains and Ben Gibbard will also perform on the soundtrack, which will be released on September 11.

The film will use the actual voice of the late Cobain that was recorded on audiotapes when Michael Azzerad was writing the book "Come As You Are" about Nirvana.  The film will be released in four months, and a DVD will follow.
