Rihanna Joins Live Earth

Singer Rihanna has added her name to the impressive list of stars that will participate in the Live Earth concerts.

The young American singer will take part in the Tokyo show, sharing the stage with Linkin Park, among others.

For the 19 year-old star, it will be an opportunity for her to share her new songs from the CD Good Girl Gone Bad with her Japanese fans.  The disc is set to be released on June 5.  The first single from the album will be Umbrella, which also features Jay-Z.

Seven Live Earth concerts will take place simultaneously on July 7.  Several artists will be performing, including Madonna, James Blunt, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kanye West, Fall Out Boy, AFI, Akon, Kelly Clarkson, Ludacris, the Smashing Pumpkins, The Police, Bon Jovi, Dave Matthews Band, Roger Waters, Alicia Keys, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, John Mayer, KT Tunstall and Melissa Etheridge.

The concerts are the initiative of former American Vice President Al Gore, who wants to bring attention to global warming.
