Reese Witherspoon Plans Next Film

Universal Pictures will remake the 1939 comedy Midnight with Reese Witherspoon as the star.

The project will be written by Michael Arndt, who earned an Oscar for the comedy Little Miss Sunshine.

In the original film, Claudette Colbert played a young woman in Paris who is used by a wealthy man to get rid of a gigolo who is chasing his wife.  John Barrymore also starred in the film, which was directed by Mitchell Leisen and written by Charles Brackett and Billy Wilder.
