According to Variety, Branagh, 46, has agreed to join Tom Cruise, 44, in the film, which will be directed by Bryan Singer.
Branagh will play a German commander who is the mentor to Cruise’s character, and who plans to assassinate Hitler.
The screenplay is based on a true story, and filming is set to begin on June 19 in Berlin.
