James Blunt Wants His Royalties

Singer James Blunt is claiming his royalties, and has appealed to the Superior Court of London.

Blunt, a former British soldier, now singer, has appealed to the Superior Court to invalidate a decision that blocks his royalty payments for the album Back to Bedlam.

An order submitted by producer Lukas Burton keeps the singer of Beautiful from touching sums of money to which he has rights.

Burton claims that he is co-writer of six songs on the 2004 album.  According to him before he did the work on the songs, Blunt’s lyrics were "crude, occasionally laughably direct and betrayed his relative lack of musicianship".

The singer would like to reverse this decision and start having payments made to him.

The album Back to Bedlam sold more than 11 million copies around the world.
