The film follows the life of Ozzie Cox (Malkovich), a former CIA agent who loses a disc that contains his memoires. McDormand will play his wife, while Clooney plays an assasin.
The role that Pitt will play in the film is yet unknown. Filming is set to begin in August.
Joel and Ethan Coen wrote the screenplay, and Joel will direct the project.
