Bette Midler To Replace Celine Dion

American singer Bette Midler will be replacing Celine Dion at Caesars Palace Colosseum in Las Vegas.

The end of this year will mark the end of the French-Canadian singer’s contract for her permanent Las Vegas show.  According to the New York Post, Midler will begin her show at the Colosseum in February of 2008.

Midler plans to begin rehearsals for her show in October.  The 61 year-old New Yorker is looking forward to performing.  Midler added, "That Colosseum – it has lots of fun stuff to fool around with!"

Bette Midler earned four Grammy Awards during her career.  The singer, who is also an actress, also earned two Oscar nominations.
