According to Variety, Streep, 57, and Hoffman, 39, will star in the film adaptation of the Broadway show. Filmmaker John Patrick Stanley will direct the project.
The story takes place in 1964 at a Catholic high school in the Bronx, where a priest is accused of sexually abusing one of his students.
