According to The Sun-Herald, Spielberg’s company, Dreamworks, will co-produce the series with Playtone partners Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman.
According to the Sydney paper, the series will be ten episodes to be created with a budget of $150 million. More than 280 Australian actors will be cast for the project.
The Pacific follows various battles that took place in the Pacific Ocean during World War II. Filming is scheduled to begin in August in Australia, and will last for nearly one year.
