According to Empire Online, Wahlberg, 35, will continue to play his character from the original film. The actor loved his role, saying, "You know, the corruption obviously going deeper and higher up the ranks. And if it’s a success, they’re gonna do a prequel and bring everyone back… make it a trilogy."
Filming for the second film of the series will begin shooting at the end of the year or the beginning of 2008.
