According to the website Celebtv, Houston wants her marriage to Bobby Brown to be over. The singer filed divorce papers last October, but now she has asked the court to accelerate the procedures.
Houston is hoping to receive full custody of her daughter, Bobbi Kristina, 13, with visitation rights for her ex-husband.
The process may move quickly as documents state that there are, "no issues of division of community property."
The My Love Is Your Love singer has sold nearly 120 million albums around the world. Houston, 43, is now collaborating with Akon and Missy Elliot for her next disc, which will be released in 2007.
